A selection of responses to our 2017 Outstanding Ofsted Judgement
I just would like to congratulate the Head, teachers and all staff for all your hard work to achieve an Outstanding result. You have made it. I am so glad and excited with the result. I am very proud of the school and am very pleased to know this is the right school for my son. Well done to all of the staff. I am very happy with the result.
Yours faithfully, Parents of Y8
We just wanted to let you know how delighted we are that Rutlish School has been judged an outstanding school by OFSTED. My husband and I are so proud to be sending our son to Rutlish, where we feel he is looked after exceptionally well in all respects. Thank you to Mr Williamson, all the teachers and all the staff who make Rutlish such a successful reality our boys can benefit from.
With kindest regards, Sabrina and Marco, parent
Dear Mr Williamson,
A huge congratulations to you and your team for the outstanding work with our boys. This is really a result to be VERY PROUD of. More grease to your elbow.
Kind regards, Jane, parent
Mr Williamson and Mr Norrie,
I’ve just read the report and, rather presumptuously, wanted to send this email to congratulate both the school and the governing body. I’ve been chair of governors at a primary school in the past and know both how hard it is to reach outstanding, and that it’s become harder still of late – but the consistency of comments within the detail of this report looks to go beyond “just” being outstanding.
Congratulations, Richard, parent.
Congratulations to you all. Have been to this school for awards, results and competitions and saw it coming. So proud of you all.
Well done and thanks for everything the staff do for my two sons, they are thriving there!
Fantastic news. Congratulations! Flying the flag for comprehensive education.
Fantastic news. My son could not be happier at Rutlish!
Wonderful to hear that the marvellous Rutlish School has been rated outstanding. Comprehensive education at its best.
Nice to know our local boys’ Rutlish School excels on so many fronts: congratulations on this verdict.
Congratulations to all at Rutlish School for being judged OUSTANDING by Ofsted. We parents knew, of course but great news.
Thrilled at the Outstanding report received by Rutlish School. Well-deserved by Mr Williamson, staff and boys.
Huge congratulations to Rutlish School for gaining a grade of OUTSTANDING in just published Ofsted news. Founder William Rutlish would be very proud.
Rutlish is now the “go to” choice for local parents who, ten years ago, would be moving out of Merton Park to find higher achieving schools in Sutton, Kingston or Surrey. So we now have a more settled, long term community, and a community school which is a source of pride, not criticism.

Dear Mrs Graham, ……Thank you for all your guidance and support! We still remember the first time we met you. As you know, it was a challenging year for our son to cope with the studies. It never would have been possible without your continuous encouragement. We really appreciate the efforts, support and guidance from all the teachers of Rutlish school. We have been to many parts of the world and can proudly say that Rutlish is one of the best schools our son attended. We are amazed by the dedication by the teachers.
Wishing you all the best. Please convey our gratitude to all the teaches.
Dear Mr Williamson,
Today we received your letter regarding our son and his participation on the selection panel for the appointment of a new English teacher.
J had (briefly!) mentioned his involvement in this process, and I teased him saying how nerve racking it must of been for the candidates having to face a group of 15 year old boys and Mr Williamson!
Thank you very much for taking the time to inform us of J positive involvement in the process, it is lovely to receive such positive feedback about him.
I thought I take the time to tell you what I saw on my journey home.
I use the 152 bus from New Malden to South Wimbledon and I often encounter Students from your school at the end of the day normally being a bit lively, but nothing out of order.
I was travelling home yesterday (Wednesday) when the boys got on at the station. The bus became a bit crowded. An older gentleman was standing near the rear of the bus and two of your younger Students offered this older gentleman their seats. Even though he declined their offer, it was just wonderful to see that there are some very courteous students at your school. And if you could mention that their actions do speak volumes. They should be proud.
All the Best to The Rutlish Boys and all the Staff
Dear Mr Williamson,
Thank you for a lovely evening, we are so happy that we made the decision to send J to his local school along with so many of his friends. It is so nice that he knows boys in all year groups from his primary school, his local park & also his
