Reporting Absence: Main school It is important that your son attends school as any absence may impact on his achievement. However, if he is absent you must inform the School. Please inform the School before 9.30am on the first day of absence, by using one of the following methods:
- telephone the Attendance Office on 020 8540 3134, or
- email the School’s Attendance Office on firstname.lastname@example.org , or
- message the School via your SchoolGateway app
If the School has not heard from you by 9.30am on the first day of absence a text will be sent to the first named contact. On the second day of absence, we will strat to call all the contact numbers you have provided in order to gain an explanation for the absence. If we still have not been able to ascertain where your son is then we will consider making a home visit. However, if we are still unable to get a response we will consider reporting it to the police and your son may then be classed a ‘missing child’. This procedure is to ensure that we know where your son is and that you are all safe.
Please let us know in good time why your son is absent from school and please ensure that we have up-to-date contact details.
