In February 27 year 10 Spanish students had a wonderful few days exploring Seville and practising their Spanish. We learnt about how the layered history of the city with it’s Jewish, Muslim and Christian heritages have influenced the beautiful architecture in the city centre. We enjoyed panoramic views of the city from the cathedral bell tower and the iconic “toadstool” structure. We learnt about the art of bull fighting at the bull ring and the successes of Sevilla FC at their stadium. One of the highlights was visiting a Spanish secondary school for a day where the boys participated in lessons and had the chance to get to know the Spanish students. We loved exploring the food markets and the students enjoyed ordering tapas at various bars in their free time, and our final breakfast of “churros con chocolate” was a lovely end to the trip.
