Sustainability Week
Last week the Eco-Committee ran their second Sustainability Week. There were lots of activities for students to participate in throughout the week during tutor time and enrichment.
- Year 8 took part in a Litter Picking competition during tutor time. They were tasked with collecting as much litter as possible from around the school in 15 minutes. The winning tutor group was 8C and runner up was 8P. Well done to all the students who volunteered for this.
- Ms Marriott’s Art Club used sustainable materials collected by the Eco-Committee including sweets wrappers and bottle tops
- Tutor groups had the opportunity to consider sustainable actions with our Sustainability Bingo house competition. They were given 16 sustainable actions to try and complete throughout the week. Deadline for entries is this Friday.
- Tutor groups were also tested on their knowledge of single use plastics with our plastics quiz
- The library now has a display of books based around the environment and sustainability for students to enjoy
- Many students also donated clothes for charity and tins for the Local Dons Action Group foodbank
